D&B audiotechnik C7
$1,500.00
The d&b C7 cabinet combines precise directional control, robust acoustic output, and compact design. It’s engineered for flexibility in horizontal arrays and accessory-compatible rigging, and works best with d&b’s DSP-capable amplifiers for integrated control and peak performance.
D&B audiotechnik C7 – Compact 3-Way Point‑Source Cabinet
The C7 is a highly efficient three-way loudspeaker designed for medium-to-long throw applications. It integrates high-output drivers in a compact enclosure, optimized for both touring and fixed installations.
Acoustic Design & Coverage
- Drivers:
- 2 × 6″ long‑excursion low-frequency units
- 1 × 8″ horn-loaded mid-frequency driver
- 1 × 1.4″ high-frequency compression driver with beryllium diaphragm
- Dispersion Pattern: Approximately 75° × 40°, optimized for focused projection
- Horn Orientation: Fixed horizontal but optimized for coverage in mid/high band
Performance Specifications
- Frequency Response (–5 dB): Approximately 115 Hz – 18 kHz
- Max SPL at 1 m (crest-factor 4): Up to ~138 dB depending on amplifier model
- Power Handling:
- LF drivers: 400 W RMS / 2,000 W peak
- MF + HF drivers: matched for optimized headroom
- Nominal Impedance: 8 Ω
- Deployment: Typically flown or ground stacked in horizontal arrays of up to 10 cabinets
Mechanical & Build Details
- Construction: Marine-grade plywood with impact-resistant black finish
- Grille: Rigid perforated steel with replaceable acoustic foam
- Rigging Hardware:
- Integrated quick-lock rigging pins for simple horizontal mounting
- Internal thread anchors for safety wiring
- Handles: Two recessed handles on top and bottom
- Connectors: Dual EP5 or NL4 (wired in parallel for redundancy)
- Dimensions (H × W × D): ~310 × 580 × 406 mm
- Weight: Approximately 34 kg
System Integration
- Compatible Amplifiers: Often driven in pairs per channel using D20, D40, or D80
- Preset Modes: Supports high-frequency compensation (HFC) and coupling compensation (CPL) when managed via supported d&b controllers
- Recommended Systems: Used with compatible subwoofers like C7-SUB or C4-SUB for full-range output
- Rigging Configuration: Can be flown alone or as horizontal bars of up to 8 cabinets; vertical stacking not recommended
Application & Usage
- Ideal for medium-range FOH coverage at festivals, corporate events, and theaters
- Works well as distributed side or front fill in larger systems
- Compact format well-suited for narrow stage wings or limited install spaces
- Often deployed in paired format to form stereo or dual-zone systems
